The Bodyguard written in 1910 plays with real life events and the world of fantasy.
It is a story within a story, a play within a play. The husband, who is an actor, deliberately creates a love triangle by creating and playing the 'Bodyguard', who is bound to become his wife's lover.
No matter what happens, he can only loose. If he manages to seduce the woman in the role of the Bodyguard, he becomes a cuckold. If his wife rejects the Bodyguard, he fails as a man and as an actor...
