6TH PÉCS INTERNATIONAL DANCE FESTIVAL 28 SEPTEMBER 2012 19.00 p.m.

1st part
Inversedance - Zoltán Fodor Company: Subconscious

Turning, turning, turning... Quite possibly the only constant in my life is the continuous turning, revolving, changing, or transformation. I am maturing through a series of metamorphoses, both small and large, but wherever is my path headed? And, once I arrive, will I be okay there? Or am I only changing? This is a great journey, and meanwhile my life goes on... A boy and five girls have to continue thinking about the deep psychology of Out of Synch while also innermost, secret desires.

2nd part
Yvette Bozsik Company: The Flowers of the Arabian Nights
dance theatre performance for adults

It is the story of a magical dream dominated by desire and eroticism. Through the stories of The Arabian Nights we can experience the trials and tribulations of becoming an adult and the fears from adult existence. Miracles happen in the stories, and everything, even death is reversible, in fact there is no sharp dividing line between the living and the dead.
“… we seek the meaning of life at each stage of life and we find some of it at each stage …” (Bruno Bettelheim)
The production was commissioned by the National Dance Theatre for adults, following the premiere of the children’s performance entitled The Most Beautiful Tales of the Arabian Nights. The performance was inspired by the film of the same title by Pier Paolo Pasolini. The original music was composed from the amalgamation of contemporary and oriental musical motifs by the Swiss composer Philippe Héritier.
