  • The Two-Headed Beast or Pécs in 1686

    Sándor Weöres, one of the greatest  Hungarian poets of the 20th century, lived in Pécs between 1933–1943 when the council asked him to write a play about the history of the town. However, the premiére was cancelled and the play was published only 10 years later. He then decided not to write a play ever again. The Two-Headed Beast depicts nations, religions, social classes and lots of different characters as a historic panopticon.
