Don Giovanni

 

Don Giovanni is "the opera of operas", the most widely known piece of stage music. It is almost religious how audiences worship Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's composition. 

The opera recalls the legendary character of the lecherous Don Juan. Da Ponte's libretto was regarded as a 'dramma giocoso' i.e. playful drama, which means that comic and dramatic elements are mixed in it.
